Scandal: Police arrests man, 42, for impregnating 16-year-old daughter in Ogun

The Ogun State Police on Thursday arrested a 42-year-old man, Taofeek Oyeyemi for allegedly impregnating his 16-year-old biological daughter.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Command’s Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi in Abeokuta on Thursday.

The statement disclosed that the suspect was arrested following a complaint from the mother of the victim at Ewekoro Police station in Ewekoro local government area of the State.

The victim’s mother reported to the police that her daughter, who had been living with the suspect who was ex-husband informed her that she was impregnated by her father.

She further told the Police that the suspect had taken the victim to a quack medical practitioner for abortion, “but since the abortion was carried out, the victim had being bleeding”.

Receiving the report, DPO Ewekoro division, Rotimi Jeje ordered his JWC section to go after the suspect and he was eventually arrested”, Oyeyemi said.

The suspect who was said to have 17 children from different women, on interrogation confessed to have slept with the victim several times which resulted to her pregnancy “and in order for his secret not to be exposed, he decided to take the girl for abortion.”

The Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson had directed that the suspect be transferred to Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labor Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
