Presidency disowns appointment linked to non-existent council

The Presidency has disowned the purported appointment of one Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi under an organisation known as the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, stating that no such body exists under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, said the Federal Government’s attention had been drawn to activities of Adeyemi, who has allegedly been presenting himself as an appointee of the Presidency through the purported council.

Gbajabiamila clarified that the organisation has no affiliation with the Federal Government and is not recognised by the current administration.

“The unsuspecting public is hereby advised to note that such an office does not exist under this administration and no appointment has been made in that regard,” the statement said.

The Presidency urged members of the public to disregard any claims or representations linking the Federal Government to the alleged council or its activities.

It also called on foreign and diplomatic missions, financial and multilateral institutions, development organisations, security agencies and other stakeholders to take note of the disclaimer and avoid engaging with individuals claiming authority from the non-existent body.

The Presidency reiterated that no appointment has been made in connection with the so-called Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council and warned against any attempt to use the name of the government to mislead the public.
