Arsenal win Premier League title after Man City stumble at Bournemouth

Arsenal have been crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years after Manchester City were held to a draw by Bournemouth, handing Mikel Arteta’s side an unassailable lead at the top of the table.

City’s slip on the south coast leaves Arsenal four points clear heading into the final round of fixtures, confirming the Gunners as champions ahead of their season finale against Crystal Palace.

The title triumph ends Arsenal’s long wait for league glory and marks a major milestone for Arteta, whose side have finally converted years of rebuilding into silverware.

Bournemouth took the lead shortly before halftime through teenage forward Junior Kroupi, who curled home a fine effort to put the hosts ahead.

Despite late pressure from City, including an equaliser from Erling Haaland, Bournemouth held on to secure the draw that effectively ended the title race.

The result also intensified speculation around Pep Guardiola’s future, with reports suggesting the City manager could leave at the end of the season. Guardiola, however, insisted before the match that speculation had no impact on preparations.

The draw ends City’s title defence and leaves Guardiola set to finish the campaign without the Premier League crown after a dominant era that delivered six league titles.

Bournemouth’s result also secured European football for next season, with manager Andoni Iraola reportedly set to depart after guiding the club to one of its most successful campaigns.

Arsenal will now lift the Premier League trophy after ending more than two decades of waiting for English football’s biggest prize.
