Lawan, Ngige, Others Visit Ekweremadu After Germany Attack

President of the Senate, Dr Ahmad Lawan, on Monday, paid a visit to Senator Ike Ekweremadu at his Abuja residence.

This is coming after Senator Ekweremadu returned to the country from Germany, and barely 48 hours after an assault on him.

The former Deputy Senate President had been physically assaulted in Germany, on Saturday, by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), at the 2nd Annual Igbo Cultural Festival in Nuremberg where he was invited at guest speaker.

Other dignitaries who visited the lawmaker include Senator Chris Ngige, Hon. Nnoli Nnaji, Hon. Kingsley Ebenyi, Senator Gil Nnaji, among others.

Speaking to journalists at the Abuja Airport, on Monday, the Senator said the attack was not a representation of the character of Nigerians both at home and abroad.

He, therefore, advised Nigerians and Igbo leaders to feel free to travel to any part of the world they wish, reiterating that he has since put the issue behind him.
