Court formally dismisses sex trafficking case against Jeffrey Epstein following his demise

Following the death of disgraced Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein earlier this month, the criminal sex cased levelled against him has been formally dismissed by the court.

The criminal sex trafficking case against disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein has been formally dismissed.

US District Judge Richard Berman said he was legally bound to end the case after Epstein, 66, killed himself in his New York jail cell on August 10 just days after being taken off suicide watch.

He was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking and conspiracy charges when was found hanging at Manhattan’s Correction Centre.

The 66-year-old who once counted Donald Trump, Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew as friends, was arrested on July 6.

He pleaded not guilty to accusations of sexually abusing dozens of underage girls as young as 14, from at least 2002 to 2005.
