Tinubu/Shettima ticket not setback for Nigeria – by Smart Adeyemi

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Senator Smart Adeyemi, has dismissed fears in some quarters about the presidential ticket of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima.

Adeyemi, the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, insisted that the Tinubu/Shettima ticket stands for the unity of the country and not a setback.

He said the APC zoned its presidential ticket to the South for unity, fairness, and justice.

Addressing reporters in Abuja, Adeyemi said: “If you look at Tinubu/Shettima, the two of them have something to offer. For you to assess an individual, you first of all look at his antecedent, what people think about him, and what he has said about himself, then you conclude.

“To me, with the antecedents of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he has the credentials required to govern Nigeria.

“He succeeded in setting up the governorship structure in Lagos where Christians and Muslims rotate governorship; where the Igbo and the Hausa hold political positions in Lagos. It’s where you see a non-Yoruba person being a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.”
