FG poised to partner private sector on youth development

The Federal Government has expressed its resolve to partner the private sector with interest in youth empowerment for the creation of skills and innovations to boost employment.

According to the Federal Government, this partnership would lead to creation of many jobs, which will reduce unemployment among Nigerian youths.

The Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, spoke at the weekend when he visited the Robotic and Artificial Intelligence Nigeria (RAIN) at Iyaganku Quarters in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Dare said: “It is heartwarming to see your main objectives are in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration’s goals towards creating employment for Nigerian youths who make up over 54 per cent of our population.

“Upskilling entrepreneurs give rise to creating a number of jobs, which will in turn help to reduce the high unemployment rate among Nigerian youths.

“It is, therefore, worthy of note to express the Federal Government’s support, through the various initiatives, which include the recently approved Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF). The fund is set up to help youth entrepreneurs access funding for established businesses and innovative ideas.”
