Taraba First Lady bags award for empowering youths

The Youths of Taraba State have honoured the Wife of the Taraba State governor, Mrs Anna Darius Ishaku, with an award for her contributions to youth empowerment.

She bagged her latest award from the Association of Jalingo Trainees (AJT), whose members said they have become independent and successful business people courtesy of Mrs Anna Ishaku.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor’s wife, Mrs Mercy Gbashi, said the First Lady accepted the AJT award with gratitude, even though she does not accept awards “any how” from everyone or group.

The AJT award came after a two-day sensitisation workshop organised by Hope Afresh Foundation (HAF) – a philanthropic organisation owned by the governor’s wife. During the workshop, the youth were trained on security and etiquettes.

Mrs Ishaku applauded her foundation partners who have been key in the success story of the trainees, including Mrs. Elizabeth Wachap (Provost, College of Agriculture) Jalingo and the Taraba State Government through the Ministry of Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation.
