Sanwo-Olu vows to continue improving Lagosians’ lives

Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday stated his resolve to continue working to improve the lives of Lagosians.

He said governance goes beyond securing lives and property, adding that it also involves ensuring the daily upkeep and welfare of the citizens.

The governor said this while he spoke yesterday at Alausa, Ikeja at the second edition of the ‘Sanwo-Olu Listens’, a programme organised to help the needy.

His words, “I am delighted to be at this event and listen to some of the beneficiaries as they table their priorities. This is what government entails. Not only for the security of lives and property. We know you will face health challenges, house challenges, children school fees, etc and we will find a way of giving succour and lifting citizens out of the problems.”

Cheques were presented to vulnerable Lagosians, especially those whose sources of income were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A couple with triplets, namely Abdul Rasheed, Abdul Ramon and AbdulRaheem, were full of praises for the assistance received from the governor, particularly through the Office of Civic Engagement.

Other beneficiaries who commended the governor included Mr. Lawal Fatai Olalekan, who said through the initiative, his son, Oyinlola Lawal, an undergraduate of the Lagos State University, Ojo, travelled abroad for an operation of a hole in the heart.
