Queen of England does her washing up, enjoys ‘normal’ existence during break

Royal author, Juliet Rieden has revealed that the 92-year-old British Monarch, Queen Elizabeth still helps to do the washing up during her summer break.

As the British monarch, you would expect the Queen to be waited on hand and foot, no matter where she is.

However, it seems that when it comes to her annual holiday in Balmoral, Her Majesty is more than happy to muck in when it comes to household chores. She does her own washing up while in her summer home of Balmoral according to royal writer Juliet Rieden

According to the Express the writer revealed that Balmoral is where the Queen enjoys a more “normal” existence.

Speaking to Nine News Juliet said, “This is where she loves to be, this is holiday time for the Queen. She always said this is where she feels most herself and feels most free.

“When they are out having their barbecues, which they love to do out in the grounds of Balmoral – it’s a massive estate, the most beautiful grounds – where they literally set up a barbecue.

“And afterward the Queen does the washing up.”
The Queen usually stays at her estate in the Scottish Highlands until October – and this year is set to be no different, with reports indicating that Her Majesty will spend the next few months relaxing, spending time with family and even throwing a birthday shindig for Meghan Markle.
