The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a slight adjustment to the reporting time for candidates sitting the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), particularly those in the first session.
In a notice shared on its official X handle on Monday, the board said candidates are now expected to arrive at their examination centres by 7:00 a.m., instead of the earlier scheduled 6:30 a.m.
JAMB also confirmed that the first session will now commence at 8:30 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m.
According to the board, the adjustment affects only the arrival time for candidates, and there is no requirement for candidates to reprint their examination slips.
The revised schedule is part of the full UTME timetable, which includes four daily sessions running across weekdays to improve coordination at Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.
JAMB said the change was introduced following feedback from candidates and parents over the challenges associated with very early morning travel, including safety concerns and logistical difficulties for those coming from distant locations.
The 2026 UTME is scheduled to hold from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 25, 2026.
