The Renewed Hope Initiative says its food outreach programme has now reached 26 states, providing relief to thousands of vulnerable Nigerians through targeted humanitarian support.
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, represented by the wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, made the announcement during the symbolic distribution of food items in Dutse, Jigawa State.
The food items were distributed to widows, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups as part of the initiative’s efforts to strengthen social safety nets across the country.
Mrs. Tinubu said the programme complements President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and is supported by the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative and an anonymous donor.
She announced that Ondo State will be the next beneficiary of the food intervention programme as the initiative continues to expand nationwide.
The First Lady also inaugurated the Renewed Hope Initiative Green Nigeria Challenge in Jigawa to promote tree planting, environmental sanitation and green innovation among young Nigerians and communities.
Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi welcomed the intervention, describing it as timely and consistent with his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable residents.
