FG to tackle flood with coordinated approach says Fashola

The Federal Government has vowed to involve all arms and levels of government in deploying a national coordinated approach that will address the ravaging floods across the country.

Works and Housing Minister Babatunde Fashola announced this yesterday in Abuja at the inaugural edition of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Administration Scorecard 2015-2023 Series organized by the Ministry of Information and Culture.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Fashola said the Federal Government was worried and concerned about the devastating floods that are impacting many parts of the country.

His words, “It is a very grave matter, very tragic in its human and economic costs. It is going to require all government approaches – from local to state and Federal Government – to deal with it.

“It is going to require an all-nation approach, perhaps something similar to the way we responded to the COVID-19 pandemic where everybody played a role. This is because everybody is impacted one way or the other.”

Also, Water Resources Minister Suleiman Adamu has said Nigeria never signed any agreement with Cameroon to build the Datsun Hausa Dam in Adamawa State to stop water released from the Lagdo Dam in the neighboring country.
