FG to partner destination countries on return of traffickers’ illicit assets

The Federal Government is making arrangements to collaborate with destination countries to recover and repatriate all illicit assets of high profile traffickers.

The government said this move will result in more convictions of traffickers.

The seizures will be achieved through diligent investigation aimed at eliminating weaknesses in the prosecution of high profile cases that will guarantee a realistic conviction.

Director-General of National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) Fatima Waziri-Azi who made the revelation said the NAPTIP Act allows forfeiture of assets acquired from trafficking in Persons.

She said this yesterday in Abuja while addressing the press.
