FG takes over Ebonyi varsity as Buhari inaugurates building

The Federal Government of Nigeria has taken over the King David University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Uburu in Ebonyi State as federal owned.

This followed a request presented by Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari announced the take-over at a state banquet organized in his honor.

Saying the scope of the hospital was beyond the management of the state, Umahi made the call at the hospital’s inauguration.

“I had earlier pleaded with the President to approve the takeover and he said that we should go and celebrate and we have been celebrating since then.

“It is good that the President is inaugurating the edifice and I am tempted to call it a Federal Teaching Hospital,” he said.

While in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state, the President inaugurated the cancer center at the university built and equipped by the Federal Government under TETFUND.

After inspecting and inaugurating the various projects, President Buhari told Umahi that he has created a lot of “problems” for his successor.

He commended the governor on the quality of projects, saying he was not surprised.
