FG secures Kizz Daniel’s release from Tanzanian prison

The Federal Government of Nigeria has secured the release of popular singer and songwriter, Oluwatobiloba Daniel (aka Kizz Daniel) from Tanzanian prison.

The singer was arrested yesterday in Tanzania after failing to show up for a paid concert in the country.

Last night, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, announced that the singer had been released.

The organizers of the Summer Amplified Show had arrested the “Buga” hitmaker for failing to perform at the well-publicized show on Sunday night.

Fans of the singer were forced to wait until 6 a.m. for a live performance, but Kizz Daniel was absent.

In reaction to a tweet last night from a Twitter user pleading for the Federal Government’s intervention, Mrs. Abike said: “KD has been released.

“His legal team will, however, report back to the police tomorrow (today) while he will subsequently return to Nigeria.”

The singer was reported to have arrived in the country earlier but refused to perform because of the unavailability of his clothes.
