“El-Rufai is wrong”, ex-Presidential aide claims

Former adviser to President Buhari on political matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu has said that the statement made by Nasir El-Rufai , Governor Kaduna state regarding development in some sections of the country is wrong.

His assertion came in reaction to El-Rufai’s statement that the north is backward and the south is developing in a published article written by him (Ojudu) titled ‘El-Rufai is wrong’

According to him “it is a fallacy to say that the south is developing. Every part of Nigeria is at best yearning for development. At worst we have a profound reality, an uneven pace of development across states around which Nigeria has been divided since 1967.

“We have one large underdeveloped country which calls for the attention of all of us be it North or South”.

The senator observed that El-Rufai’s statement would have been true twenty or thirty years ago, and stated that the present southwest region lives on past glory.

He added that the present state which the Southwest find itself cannot be described as progress.

Senator Ojudu submitted that “Nigeria as a whole cries for development not a part as expostulated by my dear friend Governor El Rufai. The devil is in the details. We must rise up and demand good governance across board.”
