It’s been reported that the new movie will show Prince Akeem getting ready to ascend to the throne and become King of the fictional country, Zamunda, when he then finds out that he fathered a son he didn’t know about in America. In order to honour his father’s dying wish, Akeem and Seemi must once again go in search of this son, in Queens and then turn the street-savvy New York native into the crown prince. It’s thought that the new movie is slated for release in December 2020.
