Drug barons, ‘Yahoo Boys’ investing in Nigerian music industry, Zaaki Azzay alleges

Nigerian musician star, Zaaki Azzay, has alleged that Drug barons and internet fraudsters sponsor some of the acts in the Nigerian music industry.

The Benue State-born singer made this allegation in an interview with the Premium Times.

Azzay lauded Nigerian music acts for their talents, but faulted some of them for releasing music contents which add value to the society.

According to him, “There are lots of people who are not really musicians. People who are not really talented come into music and bring money from drugs or ‘blood money’ put it into music and make noise everywhere.

“Not many know these musicians are actually using music to cover up for their drug businesses,” he added.

The torchlight-bearing artiste who affirmed his passion for music noted that the demand for Nigerian music has increased, unlike the time he ventured into music.
