Coronavirus: China poised to build hospital in six days, as disease spread

In a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus, Chinese authorities have moved to build a well-equipped special quarantine hospital within six days, according to reports.

This hospital will cater for the treatment of the coronavirus, as it would have in place laboratory and surgical equipment needed to treat infected persons.

The Source reports that this is not the first time China will build a quick fix hospital to tackle an emergency. They did the same to tackle SARS. That one, built in Beijing in 2003, took seven days.

Local media reports that Chinese authorities have expressed confidence that the hospital will be completed and built within schedule.

The United States has concluded plans to send a chartered flight to China to evacuate her diplomats and citizens while confirming a second case of the virus. France on the other hand has acknowledged two cases.

Over two thousand patients have been confirmed in China with over 55 dead. There are currently more than 60 cases in over 12 countries of the world.

The World Health Organization has refused to grant it international epidemic status- the same manner it refused to have done with the Ebola Virus in 2014, when it took eight months to make a declaration. However, by the time it did, the disease has already killed 11000 people and become endemic in many African countries.
