The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed May 15 and 16 for its presidential primary ahead of the 2027 elections.
The timetable aligns with the April 23 to May 30 window approved by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for political parties to conduct primaries.
Governorship primaries will hold on May 23, while state Houses of Assembly elections are scheduled for May 21. National Assembly primaries will take place between May 28 and May 30.
The party pegged the cost of presidential forms at ₦100 million, with ₦30 million for expression of interest and ₦70 million for nomination. President Bola Tinubu is expected to be the sole aspirant, with his candidacy likely to be ratified through consensus or direct primaries.
Governorship aspirants will pay ₦50 million, while senatorial, House of Representatives, and state assembly hopefuls will pay ₦20 million, ₦10 million, and ₦6 million respectively.
APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, said the party prefers consensus in selecting candidates but will adopt direct primaries where agreement fails.
National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka said the timetable is designed to ensure transparency and give aspirants enough time to prepare.
Sales of forms will run from April 25 to May 2, with submission closing on May 4. Screening is scheduled between May 6 and May 9, while appeals will be heard from May 12 to May 13. Governorship primaries will not hold in seven states due to off-cycle elections.
