2023 elections: Ex-Lagos council chairmen rally for Tinubu

Former local government chairmen in Lagos State have begun mobilization for the presidential aspiration of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The Chairman of Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State, Shuaibu Umar Galadima, also said Tinubu has the right to vie for the office of the President.

Under the aegis of Grassroots Network for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu (GNAT), the former council chairmen have described the politician as a great benefactor who had built many actors, including Governor Kayode Fayemi, Muiz Banire (SAN), Lai Mohammed, Rauf Aregbesola, and Babatunde Fashola.

GNAT, which is led by Abiodun Mafe, also has serving and former local government chairmen, councilors, supervisors, secretaries to local government, secretaries to education, special advisers, special assistants, and other political appointees at the local government level across the country.

Mafe, who spoke at the lunch of the group in Lagos, said they could not be ingrates to the former Lagos State governor, who he said played a great role in their rise to prominence.

Former Bariga Council Chairman Omoyele Suleiman Oris, who launched the organization, said: “We will travel around the nooks and crannies of Nigeria to mobilize for Asiwaju to realize his dream of a greater Nigeria that works.”
