Shocking! Man steals at Lagos police station

Man, 25 identified as Rilwan Adebayo, appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court after he was arraigned for allegedly stealing N62,000 from a policewoman.

Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Peter Nwangwu said the defendant committed the offence on July 7 at the Resolution Unit of the Nigeria Police, Elere Division, Agege, Ikeja.

He alleged that the defendant opened a drawer belonging to Taiwo Ibikunle, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), and stole the cash. But he was allegedly caught by Ibikunle’s colleague.

Adebayo however pleaded not guilty to the allegations levelled against him
Chief Magistrate Yewande Aje-Afunwa granted the defendant N100,000 bail with two sureties in the like sum.

She said the sureties must be employed and show evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
The case continues on September 10.
