NNPC shakes up management

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has redeployed some senior officials in a move geared towards repositioning the company for efficiency, transparency and profitability.

A statement issued on Sunday by its Group General Manager Group Public Affairs Division Dr. Kennie Obateru revealed that the redeployments and appointments were in line with the ‘Next Level Agenda’ of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

According to the statement, Nigerian Gas Marketing Company (NGMC) Managing Director Mohammed Abdulkabir Ahmed has been named the new COO, (Corporate Services) following the retirement of Farouk Garba.

The COO (Upstream) Adeyemi Adetunji was redeployed to Ventures and Business Development Directorate as COO. He replaces Roland Onoriode Ewubare who voluntarily retired last week.

Also, NNPC Retail Limited Managing Director Billy Okoye replaces Tombomieye in COMD as Group General Manager.

Obateru said Sales and Marketing NNPC Retail Limited General Manager Mrs. Elizabeth Aliyuda now takes over from Okoye as Managing Director.

He said Usman Farouk, the Executive Director Asset Management and Technical Services at the NGMC takes over from Mr. Ahmed as Managing Director.

Obateru quoted the Group Managing Director of the Corporation, Malam Mele Kyari, as saying that the shake-up will give impetus to the ongoing restructuring within the corporation, which is in line with the corporate vision of “Transparency, Accountability and Performance Excellence (TAPE).’’
