LASG task women to foster peace in homes, society

Lagos State Government has admonished women resident in the state to be responsible in dispensing their duties in their respective families, communities, religious associations and the society at large.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. (Mrs) Cecilia Bolaji Dada issued this charge at the maiden edition of Women Assembly held at two major points namely Surulere and Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye areas for 10 local government areas and local council development areas in the state.

At the forum which was held to discuss welfarism, economic and social emancipation for women, Dada urged them on the need to be wise in handling the challenges in their homes so that peace can reign in the society.

“Also, during periods of economic recession and pandemic that is ravaging economies of nations of the world, women are the worst hit”. “It is therefore required of us as a responsible govt. to have a heart to heart discussion with our women in Lagos which is the motive behind this forum”, she said.

The forum Dada pointed out will enable women to participate in policies and programs relating to women and their social protection.
