INEC warns Nigerians against multiple registrations

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned the citizens to desist from multiple registrations.

The commission asked those with defaced cards to visit their office and file complaints.

Head of Voter Education in Lagos State, Kemi Oyedotun, and Head of Electoral Operations Felix Daramola spoke during The Muslim Congress (TMC) special monthly adhkar and election sensitization program at Dawah Centre, Lagos.

Oyedotun expressed happiness with the large turnout as he urged Nigerians to shun multiple registrations.

“As electorates, we should shun multiple registrations. If you have registered once, it’s okay. Don’t register twice. If your card is defaced or you have issues with your card, please come to our office to rectify it. There is no need for you to register again. Shun multiple registrations; that’s my advice,” he said.

The commission commended congress for educating its members on the electoral system.

According to them, faith-based organizations are critical partners in the electoral process.
