The All Progressives Congress (APC) says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is well positioned to secure a second term in 2027, citing expanding youth support, policy delivery and data-driven mobilisation.
APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, spoke in Abuja at the APC Northwest Youth Mobilisation Meet-and-Greet, where he said growing grassroots acceptance has made the party “the largest political party in Africa.” He noted that young Nigerians are driving this growth, with 48 per cent of APC members in the Northwest aged 18–35 and about 83 per cent of national members between 18 and 49.
Yilwatda attributed rising support to social policies such as the student loan scheme, which he said has benefited nearly one million youths, alongside monthly stipends that help students remain in school. He added that over four million people are being enrolled in health insurance, while digital cash transfers have reached six million households in six months.
He also highlighted the party’s electronic registration system, which he said would improve targeted campaigning, with over three million members already registered and a target of 10 million. Urging loyalty, he stressed that political appointees must actively support the party.
Minister of State for Works, Bello Goronyo, said Tinubu’s inclusive leadership and major infrastructure projects across the country would attract broad support in 2027. Other speakers, including Youth Development Minister Ayodele Olawande and presidential adviser Hadiza Bala Usman, called for unity, loyalty and effective communication of government achievements.
The event ended with awards to youth members in recognition of their contributions to party mobilisation.
