NAF airstrikes hit Sambisa targets, kill several terrorists

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has carried out precision airstrikes on terrorist positions in the Yuwe axis of the Sambisa Forest, killing several fighters.

In a statement, NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation was conducted by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI following credible intelligence.

He said surveillance missions confirmed the presence of террорист elements in fortified structures and bunkers within the area.

According to him, air assets deployed precision munitions on the targets, destroying the structures, neutralising fighters and crippling key logistics facilities.

Ejodame added that battle damage assessments confirmed the success of the operation, noting that sustained air campaigns are weakening terrorist networks in the North-East.

He said the pressure has left insurgents increasingly exposed, forcing them into reactive and disorganised actions.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, reaffirmed the military’s commitment to intensifying intelligence-driven operations across the theatre.

He added that the Air Force would continue precision strikes while adhering to rules of engagement and minimising civilian casualties.
