The All Progressives Congress (APC) has set Tuesday, March 24, 2026, for the screening of aspirants seeking national offices ahead of its upcoming national convention. The party also confirmed that its zonal congresses will take place on Wednesday across designated cities in the six geopolitical zones.
A notice issued in Abuja by the APC’s Aspirants’ Screening Committee, signed by Secretary Malam Isa Yuguda, stated that the exercise will be held at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja, starting at 9:00 a.m. Aspirants who purchased and submitted their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms are required to attend, bringing all necessary documentation for verification.
Yuguda urged candidates to arrive early to ensure a smooth screening process. “Attendance is compulsory, and aspirants should come prepared with all relevant documents,” he said.
Regarding zonal congresses, the Southwest meeting, initially planned for Ibadan, has been moved to Lagos, while Enugu will host the Southeast congress. Rivers and Cross River states will jointly host the South-South event.
In the North, Kaduna will host the Northwest congress, Gombe and Bauchi states will co-host the Northeast, and Nasarawa State will accommodate the Northcentral zone.
The APC has set Thursday, March 26, to address any appeals arising from the zonal congresses. The national convention is scheduled to hold between March 27 and 28, 2026, in Abuja.
The party’s announcement underscores its commitment to a structured and orderly process in selecting candidates for national offices, ensuring transparency and compliance with party guidelines.
