The Lagos State Government has issued a detailed advisory to help residents navigate traffic disruptions during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s two-day visit to the state.
The President is in Lagos to inaugurate several key projects, marking his third official state visit in recent days following trips to Plateau and Ogun states.
According to the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, temporary road closures will be enforced across major routes to ensure security and smooth execution of the events. He urged motorists to plan ahead and avoid affected areas during the specified hours.
The government disclosed that the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge inauguration will take place between 9am and 1pm, impacting traffic around Opebi, Allen, Ikeja, and Ojota. Commuters using these routes have been advised to seek alternative roads.
On the following day, activities will continue within the same time frame, with the inauguration of the Tolu Schools Complex expected to affect movement in Olodi Apapa and Ajegunle.
Additionally, another event scheduled for later in the day, between 4pm and 7pm, will impact traffic flow on Victoria Island, one of Lagos’ busiest commercial hubs.
Traffic management authorities, including the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, will be deployed across key locations to manage vehicular movement and reduce congestion.
The government appealed to residents to cooperate with officials and comply with all traffic directives to minimise inconvenience during the President’s visit.
