Army Releases Shortlist for 2027 Combatant Course

The Nigerian Army has released the shortlist of candidates for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027 Selection Board.

The Army announced the development on Thursday through its official X account, directing applicants to check their status on its recruitment portal.

Shortlisted candidates are expected to report to the Nigerian Defence Academy, Ribadu Campus, Old Site, Kaduna State, from November 23, 2026. The selection exercise will run until December 11.

The SSCC programme offers qualified civilians and serving military personnel the opportunity to join the Army’s Combat Arms, including Infantry and Armour, as well as Combat Support Arms such as Artillery, Engineers, Signals and Intelligence.

The Army said candidates who successfully complete the training would typically be commissioned as Second Lieutenants under a 15-year short service commission.

Applicants were advised to visit the recruitment portal to confirm their status and review reporting instructions. They are required to bring original copies of their educational certificates, birth certificates or age declarations, state of origin certificates, NIN and BVN slips, signed photo-slips and guarantor forms.

The Army warned applicants against unofficial websites, agents and individuals demanding payment, stressing that recruitment is free at every stage. Shortlisted candidates were also urged to prepare for medical examinations, physical fitness assessments and interviews.
